Deferatio consists of two prints of seven picturesque scenes each. The scenes of this piece of art are situated in a train compartment. On one hand you see an attractive, hot, racy scene in luxurious first class train. On the other hand you see a weird, cold atmosphere in a second-class train. This piece of art plays a subtle game with our instinctive interpretation of images.Contradictions between "life and death" or "good and evil" are so connected ot each other that it's impossible to know where one stops and the other starts. Deferatio plays with the deceptiveness of our subjective feelings and prejudices on different levels. Are the naked and bloodstained girls in the middle of a pervert game? Or do they testify an ultimate proof of love?
